Spring break’s warm weather and relief from school often leaves students counting down the days until summer. Though a copious amount of people flood the airports during spring break, parents and some students still have work and other activities to do at home. If you stay at home over spring break, don’t fret. Read below for a few ways to avoid boredom.

Organize
Cleaning up your room, closet, random drawers filled with old junk or Facebook profile benefits you and everyone else who sees it. You can organize just about anything. It takes great patience and a tolerance for temporary messiness, but the result feels clean and refreshing. It will be worth all tedious efforts if you can maintain the rearrangements.

Movies
Whether you stay at home to watch them or go out to the theater with a friend, the easy access to movies allows you a fun, momentary escape from reality. Netflix’s wide variety of digital entertainment and convenience, at-home streaming or perhaps the constant innovation of technology makes Netflix the leading internet streaming service (get the link at home)

Hangout With Friends
Not everyone leaves town for spring break. Meet up to watch a movie, play video games or just have a conversation with a friend. Head to ABC coffee. A bonfire and s’mores get-together might be fun on the week off from school in tribute to the eager anticipation of summer.

Spend Quality Time With Family
If you have siblings, however annoying you may find them to be, they were born to be your forever-friends. Spending quality time with them in the early years can lead to a better relationship with them in the future. A break from school with no time-consuming homework to distract you provides the perfect opportunity to get closer to your parents or grandparents. Find out about their childhood and things they love.

Walk At A Park
If we have warm, mild spring weather, take a nice walk or drive to a nearby park. Distractions hinder our ability to think and process. In our fast-paced, busy world, spending some time to reflect quietly in nature benefits the mind. Pack a picnic lunch and sit under a tree, but make sure not to litter. Bring a book or a friend and relax amidst the trees and wind.

DIY Projects
While most people associate all things Do-It-Yourself with crafts and homemade furniture, DIY projects can be more than that. From glow-in-the-dark jar lights to face masks, you can find DIY instructions to do just about anything on Pinterest or YouTube.

Read
Reading provides endless entertainment for those who can imagine the story playing out as they read the words on the page. Spring break offers an opportunity for bookworms to take a break from assigned readings and delve into a novel of their choosing. Reading also keeps your mind alert, refreshed and prepared for the dreaded day that school comes back into session.

Learn A New Skill
Teach yourself to braid, play an instrument, cook, draw or anything you want to learn. Most likely, you will be able to find many sets of detailed instructions on eHow or YouTube. You can even begin to learn a new language for free on Duolingo.
