The lights shine brightly in the actors’ eyes as they rush out onstage for their final curtain call. The cast joins their hands, take their final bow and rush off stage to join family and friends in the lobby. Junior Christian Hachat and the rest of the cast put down their props and change into their normal clothes after the show to go thank the audience for coming. Some receive flowers and small gifts, while others talk with family and friends before they clean up.

“After a show, I’m a little sad for it to be over and not being able to tell the story with the everyone again,” Hachat said. “But also I’m happy for it to be over and I get excited to start the next one.”

After the final show, the cast and crew take down the set and say goodbye to the experiences the show had given them. The majority of the cast go to a final dinner together, but senior Darina Hayes has her own routine.

“I always go get ice cream or something sweet with my boyfriend, and I make him tell me what he liked about the show and whether I did good or not,” Hayes said. “Then I go home and take a bath, so I can relax and look back at the experience.”

Some actors have an audition right after the show ends. Many prepared by reading scripts and studying the characters they most wanted to play. They look at the aspects and traits of characters in order to have the best audition possible.

“It’s really easy to get back into an audition right after doing a show because I’ve still got the thrill and passion from it,” Hayes said.

Senior Hayden Hendrickson continues through the cycle of auditions, rehearsals and last curtain calls.

“After a show, I always feel like, ‘well there goes another show,’ and I’m always depressed,” Hendrickson said. “But then, I get excited for the next show.”
