The last hot take I picked the San Francisco 49ers to go on the road and defeat the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers won that game, 17-13 making my predictions on hot takes this year 1-0. Here’s my hot take for this week.
The Dallas Cowboys faced the Chicago Bears this past week and took a tough, hard-fought loss, 31-14. Dallas struggles defensively so far this season under defensive coordinator Matt Eburflus. Caleb Williams absolutely tore up the Dallas defense last week throwing for 298 yards and four touchdowns. With Dallas facing the Green Bay Packers this week, big adjustments are needed.
Dallas heads into week four expected to lose by 6.5 points especially after losing centerpiece Ceedee Lamb for three-four weeks with a high ankle sprain and Tyler Booker also out for a significant amount of time. The big storyline heading into this game is the return of Micah Parsons after his trade from the Cowboys to the Packers on Aug. 28. Despite everything going wrong for Dallas, they are going to find a way to defeat one of their long-time rivals this weekend.
Dak Prescott holds a 4-1 record on Sunday Night Football games, so pressure in a primetime game for Prescott won’t be an issue. The newly revamped Dallas offense is getting ready to torch the league after acquiring key pieces like George Pickens and Javonte Williams this offseason. This new Lamb injury will give Pickens a real chance to explode against the Packers on Sunday night. The key for Dallas to walk away with a shocking win in this game will be to make crucial defensive adjustments, play smart, conservative offense, and limit the mistakes and turnovers.
The expectations for Dallas this season are not super high with ESPN ranking them 24th in the latest power rankings. Once Dallas gets Lamb and Booker back on offense, Daron Bland and Demarvion Overshown on defense, teams are going to have to get ready to fight with a competitive Dallas team. Green Bay’s currently ranked fifth in the latest power rankings, so Dallas is going to pull off a real upset this weekend but they are definitely up for the task of knocking off one of the top teams in the NFL.
