The sound of sneakers squeaking and basketballs pounding the ground return to the gym as the boys basketball team gears up for the 2025-2026 season.
“We’ve grown, and we’ve learned from last year,” senior shooting guard Jamerson Green said. “We’re coming in with something to prove.”
Various athletes have not only trained as a team, but taken the time to work inside and outside the gym. Green trained his mind and body for success this upcoming season.
“I’ve been locked in all offseason by conditioning, lifting and working on my game every day,” Green said. “I focused on getting stronger, improving my shot form to make it consistent and studying film of myself and other players, so I can come into the season sharper mentally and physically.”
According to the athletes, the smaller aspects of improvement will be another reason this basketball season will be vastly different from recent years.
“We prepared by focusing on the details,” senior shooting guard Tristan Ager said. “I expect my team to turn a lot of heads and surprise people.”
These athletes believe that overall individual improvement creates a standard of putting their all into the role they play on the team and how much effort they put in.
“I will help my team as much as possible,” Ager said. “I plan on playing my role on the team as well. We have definitely developed a lot more as a team this offseason.”
Putting all the pieces together, the offseason prepares the athletes mentally and physically to make noise in the league and create an unforgettable boys basketball season.
“This season feels different because the energy is higher and everyone is more focused,” Green said. “The mindset is better, the work is better, and we’re ready to show what we can do.”
