From red and silver pom poms to a brow gavel, senior Molly Aldridge walks down D-hall from the dance room to the StuCo room. Aldridge serves as the Silver Spurs Senior Lieutenant and Student Body President for Student Council.
“Empathy is one of the most valuable qualities a leader can have,” Aldridge said. “It doesn’t matter if you’re the smartest, most popular, best looking, or the greatest athlete; if you don’t have the ability to sympathize and understand others, you’re really not reaching your full potential.”
Aldridge spends the majority of her time working for both StuCo and the Silver Spurs. Holding leadership positions allows Aldridge to serve her community and peers.
“There are so many individuals on this campus who go unnoticed, so I always make it a point to acknowledge them and the value they bring to this world,” Aldridge said. “After all, every person on this planet serves a beautiful and unique purpose, and sometimes we don’t appreciate it enough.”
When in the dance room, Aldridge plans squad hangouts, fosters communication between coaches and team, tracks demerits and shows up to extra events and practices.
“Drill team has sculpted and changed me in ways I never thought possible,” Aldridge said. “I really wouldn’t be who I am without it. I met my best friends through drill, and I find a sense of belonging that I have never found anywhere else.”
While she loves dancing, Aldridge values the support system and relationships cultivated through Silver Spurs more than anything.
“Drill is my safe haven, a place I feel valued and appreciated, and through both good times and challenges, my love for the program never falters,” Aldridge said.
Aldridge became a Student Council officer her sophomore year after serving as a member her freshman year. She works with the other executive officers to meet the needs of the school through various outreach projects.
“Student Council has pushed me to be more outspoken and it’s given me the chance to be a unifier and leader on our campus,” Aldridge said. “I am a very social and bubbly person, and I feel like I get more of an opportunity to talk to people because of my position on student council.”

StuCo Adviser Dedric Williams works with Aldridge to plan events, schedule meetings and ensure the organization runs smoothly.
“As the president this year, she has strived to engage with as many members of the council and the campus as possible,” Mr. Williams said. “She readily supports her peers and can often be seen encouraging others. She attends games, goes to concerts and other events that are sponsored by LHS organizations. She loves her school and attempts to use positive pressure to get as many others as possible involved with what is going on around here.”
Aldridge always strives to be a positive light for her team and school and helps others in any way she can. She uses her leadership positions to make a difference in her school.
“It’s crazy to think my time at Legacy is almost at an end,” Aldridge said. “I’m forever grateful for every individual who has been in my life and all the different people I’ve gotten to connect with. I’ll always carry with me the phenomenal memories I’ve made at this school, and I’m beyond blessed to have received the opportunities and friendships that are in my life.”
