Academic Associate Principal Dr. Rhonda Davis accepted a job as Advanced Academic Administrator in Garland Independent School District. Her last day at Legacy was Friday Jan. 18.
“I think Legacy is a great school,” Dr. Davis said. “There’s a lot of good things going on. I have enjoyed every minute of being here.”
Dr. Davis’ focus will be on schools who have programs like Advanced Placement classes and Gifted and Talented programs at her new job. Also she will oversee their International Baccalaureate and Magnet schools.
“I think the student activity is the thing I’ll miss the most because that won’t be on my radar as much anymore,” Dr. Davis said.
One of Dr. Davis’ ambitions was to work in a central office as head of Special Programs in the area of Advanced Academics.
“Where I’m going to be is one of my goals, so I wanted to be in a curriculum position a central office position and this job provides that,” Dr. Davis said.
Dr. Davis will miss how service oriented and dedicated everyone Legacy is. She will also miss the family mentality.
“I’m extremely glad I came and I just know that this next step is the right thing for me to do even though I was here only for a short amount of time,” Dr. Davis said.
Mr. Stewart is in the process of interviewing for the open position.
