The 7th annual Creekside Cleanup and Cookout will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, at Jakes McKnight Park East from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. This event, hosted by the City of Mansfield and the Keep Mansfield Beautiful Commission, is an opportunity for community service. Volunteers of all ages can join in. The volunteers receive trash bags, safety vests, gloves and refreshments while assisting in the cleanup. The volunteers may participate in the hot dog cookout afterwards.
“Last year it was fun serving and volunteering in the community,” senior Tony Perry said. “I expect the weather to be murky, but we’ll do what we need to do and help clean up.”
