Rumors of gang shootings scheduled for Friday are not true according to district administrators and MISD Police. Also the rumor of missing class on Friday will be excused is not true.
Mr. Stewart believes Friday will be a normal school day and Legacy has taken safety precautions.
“[The rumor] has spread through the district, there is no validity in it,” Mr. Stewart said. “There is no doubt in my mind that tomorrow will be a normal school day.”
With the 2011 Bond Package, Legacy was updated with new security cameras and keys.
“I think it will deter a lot of mischievous behavior,” Mr. Stewart said. “I can’t say it will improve safety but i think it will deter mischievous behavior.”
Sophomore Taylor Daniel feels safe and thinks the rumor is fake.
“It’s not going to happen because there are rumors every year,” Daniel said.
