The lights go down as the Living Church youth band begins to sing and play. Senior Bailey Griffin stands onstage with her microphone in hand and sings to Jesus. Her fellow Christians in the audience raise their hands and praise along with her, and the youth-led worship service kicks off.
On Friday, Jan. 20th, Living Church in Mansfield will hold a worship service, and all MISD students are invited. Griffin, the youth worship leader, came up with the idea over the summer while her youth group was at camp.
“Our church went to camp, and we talked about doing more instead of letting life happen,” Griffin said. “It’s going to be super fun”
The worship night will kick off at 7 p.m., and there will be giveaways and time to hang out with students from all over the district. The worship will begin shortly thereafter.
“My [worship] team is crazy and wonderful,” Griffin said. “Really just expect to dive into God’s presence really deep for a while, and then make new friends.”
