Theater catwalk
If you’re afraid of heights, this may not be your cup of tea. Up above the whole theater hallway, a catwalk runs over everyone’s heads, which is where a lot of the business happens above the scenes. Multiple stairs and low-headed ladders lead to the motorized pulley system for the stage curtains, the unsteady grate floor leads all the way back to the light bar in the PAC and signed shoes from alumni dangle from wires.
Inside the kitchen
Many people (including myself) call lunch their favorite class, yet many people never look at what the inside of the kitchen actually looks like. The kitchen spans farther than it seems like from the outside, containing lots of rooms that house various nacho warmers, pizza ovens and rice cookers. It’s interesting to see how all of the food efficiently cooks in its own appliance.
Band garage
The band hall on paper sounds like it should just have some instruments, maybe a music room and the office. I don’t know too many people who would guess that they use a two-row golf cart, drum racks and at least three canopies but here we are. The band directors ride the golf cart all to marching band practices down at the concrete football field with equipment and water jugs.
Book room
If you ever need a specific textbook you want to read but can’t seem to find it online, check out the book room. Long bookshelves fully lined to the brim with labelled textbooks ranging from math to science to any history you could ever want span the entire hidden room. Infinite knowledge behind closed doors.
Upstairs in the MAC
The Multipurpose Athletic Center serves as a gym and other spaces to work out and hold conferences, but upstairs differs. There machines to work out still line the walls, but a large blue mat lies on the floor for team-bonding activities. Herein also lie football traditions for graduating seniors in the cold concrete walls.
Athletics laundry room
If you ever thought that an athlete smells bad after practice, never even try to find this room. Although you may not know this room existed, one can assume what lies in here. Coaches use the washing machines to try and alleviate the smell of student’s clothes (With little result).
Student Council Closet
Ever wondered what lies under the stairs in the varsity gym? It’s all of the old Student Council decorations. The low-ceilinged hallway wraps all the way around the gym with decorations from old homecoming, prom and other StuCo events lying around. The room acts almost like a memory walk because you can see the years descending through the decorations.
Bonneau’s office
Being called into the principal’s office might not be a good thing, but at least Dr. Bonneau’s office feels cozy. Her own personal hideaway acts as her haven from homecoming dances, bad meetings and whenever she wants to hide away. Her conference room even has candy for whenever you have a conference with her.
4th floor
Everyone hears stories of it, but there have never been any classes or teachers up there. The fourth floor consists of a fully-staffed Chick-fil-A and Starbucks and a full competition-sized swimming pool. It sucks that nobody can find the stairs …
