Madison Hunter, Staff Writer

Hey guys, I’m Madison. This is my second year in newspaper and I genuinely hope that I can carry on writing interesting stories. I’m quiet and shy, but when you get to know me, I can be a little crazy, maybe even fun. I enjoy a variety of activities such as track, reading, writing, eating and singing. I am definitely not opposed to trying new things or trying to make new friends. While I have a fun side, I also have a serious side that never seems to talk or joke around. I see myself as a hard worker and try to get things done as soon as possible. This year will be fun. I can’t wait to spend another year putting smiles on everyone’s faces. Hope you all have a wonderful school year and enjoy The Rider Online.

Freshman year can be a hectic time. For me, freshman year was a new start and my time to find where I fit in. The thrill that comes with growing up, however, does not come without the fear factor. All I ever imagined before I made it to high school was being a track star, having more friends and the...

All through middle school, students dream of McDonald's or Taco Bell for lunch instead of school lunches. However, students don’t have that opportunity here. All students must stay on campus for lunch and eat what the school provided for them or what they buy themselves. Students deserve to have some...

Ladies, I know how it feels to wish that we could all be mermaids. I mean, who wouldn’t want to swim for hours on end with the dolphins without the burden of an oxygen tank or life jacket? Mystical and unexplained powers, the ability to talk to fish and going on midnight swims whenever you feel like...

Pet Peeves

Pet peeves give reasons for people to complain. When I meet someone new, I base my first impressions on what I notice, and most times I notice the obvious pet peeves and the presentation they give of themselves. Needless to say, I have a few pet peeves of my own and some of them seem more common. So...

For most of my years of school in Mansfield, I was an outcast. I was too shy to start a conversation. I had a few friends, but I didn’t have any classes with them.
