As the class of 2026 moves on and steps into a new environment, anticipation generates in the upcoming seniors who graduate in 2027. Junior Parent Night, which will take place in the Legacy PAC on May 6 from 6-7 p.m., remains an opportunity for current juniors to gain information about their approaching senior year.
“[Junior Parent Night] will entail two presentations,” Lead Guidance Counselor Dana Vorsino said. “One will be presented by a LHS counselor with important updates regarding items specific to Legacy, and the other will be presented by a representative from InspirED with all of the things pertaining to financial aid.”
With this information, current juniors can feel more secure going into their final school year and have more confidence in their futures.
“There is lots of important information for students and parents regarding senior year,” Ms. Vorsino said. “The class of 2027 will greatly benefit from this much-needed information.”
Counselors and members from the community will be responsible for holding a Q & A session and give various presentations regarding financial aid, what to expect next year and tips for success in the years following high school.
“We have a village of community members, including local businesses and college/career readiness professionals that help our students prepare for their life after high school,” Academic Associate Principal Stephanie Monajami said. “This helps students make sure they are staying aware and on top of graduation requirements, and for families to know how they can help support.”
Not only will Junior Parent Night bring the community outside of Legacy together, but it also allows staff and students to unite to discuss and set goals for seniors next year.
“Our juniors will eventually be graduates and members of the community, so it is very important that they have a post-secondary plan,” Ms. Vorsino said. “This makes sure that they can be responsible and independent members of society.”
