Journalism Hosts Underwear Drive

From Nov. 29 to Dec. 3, Journalism and other classes will collect donations of new socks and underwear, which will go to the MISD Clothes Closet. Donors can identify participating classrooms by the flyers on doors or whiteboards.

“We just want to do something for community service in our community,” journalism adviser Leland Mallett said. “Besides, how often do you get to say ‘underwear drive’?”

According to Kathy Severe, organizer of the MISD PTA Clothes Closet, the holiday season is busy her and other volunteers. There are many donations of gently used clothes that are given to families in need, but the biggest need is new underwear.

The clothes closet accepts all sizes of new underwear, socks and bras.

I’m glad that our school is helping people in need, it really defines how much we care about other people. I like the way this is written by giving a quote it gives more feel to what you are supporting. GREAT JOB :)))
