MISD canceled the annual Elementary and Secondary Job Fair for the 2011-2012 school year would have been held on May 3-6, while the Athletic Job Fair will proceed as scheduled on May 7 at the Vernon Newsom Stadium.

The reduced level of hiring needs as well as the budget cuts are soon to take place caused the cancellation of the Elementary and Secondary Job Fair. Student teachers currently working in the district and those who apply online may receive any open positions.

“We anticipate being able to fully staff our campuses from the online applications we receive daily,” Venetia Sneed, Director of Human Resource Development, said. “We encourage all interested individuals to apply online.”

The Athletic Job Fair will continue as scheduled because of the specific combinations of teaching and coaching positions soon to become available.

“We want to provide as many perspective candidates as possible for our campuses to consider,” Ms. Sneed said.
