The Mansfield Trash Off will be on April 11 starting at 9 a.m.

The Mansfield Water Project and Keep Mansfield Beautiful organizations encourage citizens to attend the Mansfield Trash Off on April 11. It will be at 651 Justice Lane, a newly purchased property of Mansfield, from 9 a.m. to noon. The organizers need as many volunteers as possible to make our community clean.

Volunteers must pre-register at www.mansfield-tx.gov, then email their registration forms to Howard Redfearn, City of Mansfield Environmental Manager, at: [email protected].

“Litter adds up quickly, so this event helps people to realize those impacts and will hopefully help them be more attentive when they are out and about and keep an eye on their own things so they do not contribute to the problem,” Redfearn said.

Participants will check-in at Town Park and clean Main Street and the park area. They recommend volunteers to wear pants, long sleeve shirts and closed toed shoes; trash bags, gloves, safety vests and drinks will be provided. Police officers will monitor the event to keep everything safe and a hot dog cookout will take place after clean up at the site.

“Clean up events like this are an excellent way to reach out to the public so they become aware of their actions,” Redfearn said.

Hey guys, I'm Sterling Greback. I have been on staff as a photographer for 2 years now, and I love it! Being a part of the Yearbook has been really important to me. I'm a junior this year, and I really love to go fishing. One of my friends has a boat and we go out on the lake all of the time. I also like BMX during my free time and playing video games (Can't wait for the new PS4). I have a pet cat, snake and turtle. I really hope this year will be fun! [email protected]
